5月23日下午14时，距离沪昆铁路客运列车脱线事发已经12小时，近万名武警、消防、医护、交警、特警仍在事故现场紧急救援，被埋车厢已经清理完毕，由于车厢受到严重挤压，里面可能还有遇难者遗体尚未取出。
